Lifestyle Newborn Session: Auckland Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

I’m often asked whether I shoot Newborn Sessions and the answer is YES and I love them! As you’ll see my style is quite different from a posed, studio Newborn Session and is known in photography circles as Lifestyle Newborn Photography. The focus in a Lifestyle Newborn Session is the story of your new family and where better to tell that story than in the cosy, comfort of your own home!

Bringing baby home is sure to be an exciting and emotional time so we set a tentative date before your baby is born and when you are ready I will come to you at home while your baby is aged between five days and three months old to capture your first family portraits. Using the natural light in your home and garden we will create sweet, timeless images of those first few days or weeks at home with your new baby. I will bring my relaxed, go-with-the-flow style to your session (no props required!) and my aim is to capture candid and loving moments of your family and new baby.

I will offer gentle direction one minute and act as fly-on-the-wall the next, clicking away as you snuggle, gaze at, bathe, feed or change your new baby. We will shoot where the light is soft and flattering, perhaps in your living area, master bedroom and nursery. If you have beautifully decorated a nursery for your baby I would love to capture all those special details for you too.

If you are an expecting mama reading this, congratulations!! I’d be honoured to be your photographer for this special time in your life and hope to continue to capture your family as it grows. If you would like to book your own Lifestyle Newborn Session please get in touch while you are still pregnant so I can make room in the calendar for your very special delivery. E-mail me at info@kirstymckayphotography.com for all your enquiries or to book.

I hope you enjoy this peek into one of my favourite Lifestyle Newborn Sessions and see what it’s all about! xo
